Senior Journalist Syed Khalid Gardezi appointed as Press Secretary to Prime Minister AJK

Muzaffarabad, (PNI): Senior Kashmiri journalist Syed Khalid Gardezi has been appointed as Press Secretary to Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan.

The appointment of Mr. Gardezi as Press Secretary in the office of Prime Minister Imran is being widely hailed by the journalist fraternity and press clubs across the country.

In their separate statements and messages, the office bearers of CPUJ, RIUJ, Kashmir Journalists Forum, National Press Club Islamabad, Central Chamber of Journalism Muzaffarabad, Mirpur Press Club, Kotli Press Club, Neelam Press Club, Hitian Bala, Bagh and Dhabarkot Press Clubs while extending their warm wishes to Gardezi for his new assignment have expressed their optimism his appointment would further strengthen the liaison between PM office and media persons and journalist organizations across the state.

Reckoned amongst credible journalists of the state Mr. Gardezi is the founder of the first ever registered digital media group, StateViews.pk and the daily StateViews.

Before setting up his own digital media group, Gardezi held key management positions at different national media organizations. Syed Khalid Gardezi has been one of the elected office bearers of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists, a prominent and pro-active organization of the country fighting for the rights of journalists.

He is the founding Secretary General of the Jammu and Kashmir Editors Council and a senior member of the Kashmir Journalists Forum, an organization of Kashmiri working journalists in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

He is also a member of the Press Foundation Azad Kashmir, the only constitutional body for journalists, and the National Coordinator of the Pakistan Federation of Columnists.
