Prime Minister AJK chairs a high level meeting, directs authorities to make sure no additional burden is placed on electricity consumers

Islamabad (PNI) Prime Minister AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that while negotiating the issue relating to electricity transmission and tariffs with the federal government, special care should be taken to ensure no additional burden is placed on the consumers.

While chairing a high-level meeting at Jammu and Kashmir House at Islamabad, here on Saturday, the PM said that the government would bear the burden itself instead of overburdening consumers.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan was given a detailed briefing on electricity issues by Secretary Electricity Department Chaudhry Tayyab.

He also updated the premier about the ongoing talks with the federal government.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Muhammad Usman Chachar, Principal Secretary/Additional Chief Secretary Development Fayaz Ali Abbasi, Secretary Department of Electricity Chaudhry Tayyab, and others. Whereas, Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Irshad Qureshi, Information Secretary Ansar Yaqoob, Special Secretary Finance Rashid Hanif were present on the occasion.
