Kashmiris themselves have to find the way out of continued oppression: Farooq Siddiqi

Washington (PR) On the eve of 13th July 2024 that marks 93 Years of continued suppression, Kashmir Global Council (KGC) in a statement issued from New York has said that it intends to hold an All-Parties Peoples Convention in the coming year of 2025 on the onset of end of 1st quarter of 21st century for which the venue has been decided to be in the City of Niagara Fall, a border city between United States and Canada.

The significance of the venue is seen as a semblance to the peace between two neighbouring countries that have been at war in the history of North America but eventually have progressed as two friendly countries.

The Directors of KGC are working to engage different political, religious, sectarian, ethnic , linguistic and political ideology to a formal discourse with the inclusion of Kashmir social science and political experts ,academicians and journalists , in arriving to a consensus that can eventually lead to a working course for peace in South Asia.

Farooq Siddiqi president of KGC is of the opinion that Kashmiris themselves have to find the way out of continued oppression. This can only be done through dialogue and by peaceful means so that the people of Kashmir can progress alongside other nations in the sub-continent.

Against this backdrop, KGC has been working on a pro-Kashmir declaration which will be issued after creation of Senate that will become sole and unquestionable representative character of people of Kashmir of all ethnic and religious societies .KGC will invite governmental and nongovernmental representatives from India, Pakistan and China to join as guest observers.

KGC has circulated the letter of endorsement in favour for All Parties and Peoples Convention
