New York (PR) – Kashmir Global Council (KGC) President Farooq Siddiqi strongly condemned the tragic massacre of more than 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, calling the incident a continuation of state-organized violence. The Kashmir Global Council strongly condemns the recent massacre of 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. This horrific act of violence, eerily timed with the visit of U.S. Vice President JD Vance to India, is tragically reminiscent of the Chattisinghpora massacre of 2000, in which 36 minority Sikhs were brutally killed. That incident, falsely blamed on Kashmiri Muslims during President Bill Clinton’s visit, was later credibly alleged to have been orchestrated by Indian security forces in disguise.
It is deeply concerning that a similar pattern of state-sponsored violence is being repeated — where massacres are weaponized to manipulate global perception and delegitimize the indigenous Kashmiri struggle for freedom by framing it as religious extremism. These staged atrocities not only claim innocent lives but also serve as justification for the continued military occupation of Kashmir, enforced through draconian laws and an overwhelming deployment of 800,000 troops.
The Kashmir Global Council urges the international community to see beyond the narratives shaped by state interests and to recognize the strategic exploitation of Kashmiris’ suffering for geopolitical ends. The current status of Kashmir divided and occupied has created a dangerous environment where truth is suppressed, and violence is normalized.
The KGC demand an immediate, impartial investigation into the Pahalgam attack under the supervision of the United Nations. The lives lost in these tragedies deserve justice, and the people of Kashmir deserve peace, dignity, and a voice in determining their future.
The KGC has called on the international community to move beyond the state narrative and acknowledge the ground realities and refrain from sacrificing the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people for the geopolitical interests of global powers. Divided and occupied Kashmir, between three nuclear powers, has become a region where truth is suppressed and violence is normalized. The KGC President has called on the United Nations to conduct an impartial and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam tragedy under its supervision.
