BRUSSELS. August 05 (Online): Members of EU parliament while expressing reservation over Indian forces brutalities and brazen and organized human rights violation by India in Occupied Kashmir following scrapping of article 370 of Indian constitution on August 05, 2019 has demanded that European Commission should mount pressure to end Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

14 members of EU parliament have expressed their grave concern while diverting the attention of president and vice president of EU Commission through a letter to Indian forces atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

They said people of Occupied Kashmir are enduring barbarity and tyranny from Indian government and Indian forces since the last 7 decades.

They said Indian armed forces are blatantly violating human rights in occupied Kashmir to stifle the voice of people of Kashmir.

They said Indian authorities have arrested several journalists, politicians and those raising voice against human rights violations while making Illegal activities act as shield. Several journalists have been lifted by them for interrogation due to their reporting regarding freedom movement.

They held that Kashmiris have to face raids, threats and physical torture. The persistent blockade of internet in all the major cities of Occupied Kashmir is continuing since last year.

They remarked the Indian forces brutalities have stepped up agitation in the region and due to which the youths are joining freedom movement.

They reiterated Kashmir is highly dangerous flash point between two nuclear armed countries.

They called upon the president and vice president of European Commission to convey the deep reservations of members of EU Parliament to Indian government and mount pressure on India to immediately halt brutalities, discrimination and violence against Kashmiris by discharging their obligations under International laws. India should give guarantee that basic human rights would be fully honored.

This is the third occasion that members of EU parliament have written a letter against human rights violation by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.
