Delimitation of constituencies and voter lists for local body elections started in Azad Kashmir: Chief Election Commissioner AJK

MUZAFFARABAD (PID) The Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice (Retd) Abdul Rashid Sulehria and Senior Member Election Commission Raja Muhammad Farooq Niaz have said that the work of delimitation of constituencies and voter lists for local body elections 2022 has been started in Azad Kashmir.

They urged the voters to ensure that their vote in the voter lists is registered at the permanent address listed in the ID card. If their vote is not registered in the voter list then they should immediately register their name in the list for exercising their right of vote in the coming local bodies elections to fulfil their national obligations.

The people can register or amend their votes or transfer them to a permanent address in the offices of Assistant Commissioners who are acting as Registration Officers.

In a special statement issued here on Wednesday they said that a draft of preliminary proposals regarding delimitation would be published by 5th of next month and objections in this regard could be lodged with the concerned delimitation authorities and added that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission is working hard in this regard.
