Appointment of judges will be made on merit for speedy delivery of justice: Prime Minister AJK

MIRPUR (PID) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has said that the appointment of judges will be made on merit for speedy delivery of justice to the people of Azad Kashmir. He expressed these views while addressing a function of District Bar Association Mirpur here on Wednesday.

He said Lawyers were a respectable segment of the society who have always played a leading role since the formation of Pakistan and added that both bench and bar have a significant role in providing speedy justice to the suffering humanity.

The Prime Minister said that the Local body elections will be held under the previous local government system and power will be shifted at the grass root level. He assured that the issue of Rathoa Haryam Bridge, Mirpur Sui Gas, reforms in Mirpur Development Authority, lawyer’s colony will be resolved soon.

He said the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is a courageous leader who has played a leading role in protecting the Kashmir issue in every forum. President District Bar Association Masood A. Sheikh Advocate and General Secretary Muhammad Shehzad Chaudhry also addressed the function while Azad Kashmir Minister for Communications and Public Works Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council Vice Chairman Raja Fayyaz Nawabi Advocate, Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Muhammad Raqib Khan, DIG Ch.Sajjad Hussain, DG Development Chaudhry Imran Khalid, Deputy Commissioner Dr Umer Azam, SSP Kamran Ali and large number of lawyers were present.The Prime Minister said that after assuming power the government has started work on all the stalled projects of the previous governments. Darbar sain Sohaili Sarkar, Shah Sulaiman Bridge and other projects for the wellbeing of the people of the state.

He said PND has approved the budget for the Rathoa Haryam Bridge, which was delayed during the last several governments and added that the work on it will start in the next three to four months. He said the government is taking solid steps to extend every possible facility to the people of the state in accordance with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.

He said the main responsibility of our government is to provide speedy delivery of justice to the people and added that Instead of cracking down on the weaker sections of the society the government will bring the mafia under the purview of law and added that there was a dire need of reforms in the development agency. DG Development Authority is a decent and talented person to bring reforms in the development agency.

The Prime Minister said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has a strong and courageous stand on the Kashmir issue and he has also taken a clear stand on the Kashmir issue in Parliament, including the OIC meeting. The Prime Minister said that Kashmiri are not an oppressed nation but a brave and courageous nation which fought for its rights despite the oppressive rule of India.
The Prime Minister said that while representing Azad Kashmir in camera sessions of the Parliament on the issue of Afghanistan, he said that these camera sessions should also be convened on the issue of Kashmir. He said that the local body system is the nursery of the political and democratic system for which we took a difficult step for holding local body elections.

With the holding of local body elections, the workers of all political parties will get dignity and the burden of the PTI government and Ministers will be lessened. He announced. 1.5 million rupees donation for the District Bar Association and also assured to address the other issues.
