BEIJING Oct 27 (Online): Chinese and Pakistani navies are set to conduct joint exercises in mid-November, which has raised India’s concerns.
India, which monitors movement, has claimed that Pakistan-China warships could enter the Persian Gulf to monitor US warships deployed since the Hamas attack on Crossrail.
Indian media reports have said that keeping an eye on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Chinese submarines and warships will move towards the Persian Gulf along with the Pakistan Navy.
According to reports, India has said that India is monitoring these developments from afar.
A Chinese Type 039 submarine named Song Class was tracked by India and seen entering the Indian Ocean.
Media reports citing sources have said that a Chinese submarine is likely to join the Pakistan Navy in the Persian Gulf.
India is monitoring their movements using its PI-8I anti-submarine warfare aircraft. Apart from this, Predator drones and other assets were also used.
Chinese naval warships, including a destroyer, frigate and a tanker, have been in the Persian Gulf since early October, when the 45th Anti-Piracy Escort Force was tasked with counter-piracy, the sources said.
The sources added that the three warships in the Persian Gulf were part of the 44th Anti-Piracy Group, which had been there since May 2023 as the 44th APEF.
India claims that the tracked Chinese submarine was accompanied by a submarine support vessel to assist in its operations from a remote location. Not only this, India has also claimed that China and Pakistan Warships may enter the Persian Gulf further,
