239 awarded degrees at Khyber Medical College convocation–2022 for MBBS session 2018-19.

PESHAWAR, November 30 (ONLINE): Convocation -2022 of Khyber Medical College was held on Wednesday, 30th November 2022 at convocation hall, University of Peshawar during which degrees were conferred upon 239 students of MBBS, Around 20 graduates in different disciplines/subjects were awarded gold medals. From session 2019 Dr. Abuzar Siraj got 10 gold medals and from session 2018 Dr. Kausar Sami received 9 gold medals.

Esteemed Health and Finance Minister – Mr. Taimur Khan Jhagra graced the event as a Chief Guest.

Dean Khyber medical College Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Mahmud Aurangzeb gave a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, Chief Guest Mr. Taimur Khan Jhagra, Honourable Guest of Honour, Senator Dr. Sania Nishtar, Respected VC KMU, Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, Honourable Chairman and Board of Governors Prof. Dr. Nadeem Khawar, Registrar KMU Dr. Saleem Gandapur, Distinguished Faculty Members of KMC, Dean KCD Prof. Dr. Syed Nasir Shah, Hospital Director Dr. Zafar Afridi, Medical Director Dr. Muhammad Siraj – KTH, Management of KMC, Young Graduates and their family members.

Dean KMC congratulated the students and families on their remarkable success, furthermore he stated that With a glorious history spanning 68 years, KMC has traditionally attracted the best and the brightest of the next generation of physicians. Our institute is now transitioning into a new arena of healthcare challenges with resounding hope and promise, always keeping in mind emerging issues of Global Health within the indigenous context.

Mr. Taimur Khan Jhagra gave a power pack speech to outgoing students. He stated that there are 3 principles that will help you to achieve your desired goals 1- face the tough times and tackle them, this will help you for the long term 2- people are hopeless and my advice is to never give up in life 3- do not compromise on your values, ethics, and principles. Furthermore, he said KMC is one of the top medical colleges in Pakistan, and today I am giving challenges to the students that make it to the top.

KMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq said that we have prepared the future healthcare leaders at KMC. Moreover, he encouraged the students to follow their passion and do what they love and the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

KMC Alumni Senator Dr. Sania Nishtar congratulated the students for this great success and stated that I am feeling proud that Dean KMC gave me so much respect and invited me and I was also a part of this prestigious institute back in the 1980s and now we are delighted that our new young generation will take the lead to make KMC on the top.

The ceremony ended with a proud moment where Lifetime achievement awards were distributed among our prestigious guests and KMC Alumni’s Chairman BOG – KTH, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Khawar, Member BOG – KTH, Prof. Dr. Zaffar Durrani, and Ex-Principal KMC Prof. Dr. Ejaz Hussain.
