ISLAMABAD Oct 29 (Online): Cases will be heard in the Supreme Court this week under the new policy, on a priority basis, the necessary cases will be dealt with first, while the rest of the cases will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
After the decision of the Practice and Procedure Act, the hearing of cases in the Supreme Court has also increased considerably and the rate of disposal of cases has also increased.
More than fifty cases are being fixed for hearing in each bench on a daily basis.
It should be noted that the three-member committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice approved the seven-point policy.
As per the policy, tax and election dispute cases will be heard on priority basis.
Pre-arrest bail and post-arrest bail cases will also be heard on priority basis.
Criminal cases of punishment up to 10 years will also be heard on priority basis, cases with multiple applications against the same judgment will also be fixed for hearing on priority basis.
