Sale of sensitive data of Pakistanis on dark web case: SHC seeks reply from govt till Nov 01

KARACHI, October 05 (Online): Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought reply from federal government till November 01 in the case of selling sensitive data of Pakistanis on dark web.

During the hearing of the case Deputy Attorney General (DAG) told the court notice was issued to provincial government instead of seeking reply from federal government.

We will reply if notice is issued to federal government.

The petitioner Tariq Masood advocate said all institutions have filed replies. Seeking reply from secretary IT and Telecommunication is must.

The court while seeking reply from federal government till November 01 ordered DAG to implement April 20, 2021 decision.

The court directed DAG he should give arguments on next hearing. Implement the court orders in the light of April, 20, 2021 decision. If court’s orders are not implemented then secretary IT and telecommunication should appear in person.

The counsel for the petitioner said federal government is delaying legislation persistently. No national cyber policy has been formed so far. 4 major incidents related to cyber have occurred so far in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention court had ordered all respondents and IT Telecommunication on April 20, 2021 to file reply.
