PTI founder petition against jail trial in contempt of EC case fixed for hearing

LAHORE, January 20 (Online): The petition of PTI founder against contempt of Election Commission (EC) proceedings and jail trial has been fixed for hearing in Lahore High Court (LHC).
A 3-member bench of LHC led by Justice Alia Neelum will hear the petition on January 22, Monday.

PTI founder has filed petition in LHC through his counsel Sameer Khosa advocate seeking court’s order for halting his jail trial in contempt of election commission case.

Federal government, election commission and superintendent Adiala jail have been made respondents in the petition.

The court has been requested through the petition to nullify election commission decision regarding jail trial besides issuing order for open and free and fair trial.
