ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (Online): Petition for revival of Nawaz Sharif appeal in Al-Azizia and Avenfield references has been filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Amjid Pervez advocate filed the petitions for revival of appeals on behalf of Nawaz Sharif.
The petitions were submitted by associate lawyer Chaudhry in IHC,
It has been prayed in the petitions that appeals be revived and decision be given after hearing the arguments on merit. In this regard it is requested to revive the appeals against conviction in Avenfield and
Alazizia references.
It is to mention here that Accountability Court (AC) had awarded punishment of 10 years and fined 70 lac pounds. In Alazizia reference court had awarded sentence of 7 years in jail.
Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for holding public office for 10 years.
PML-N supremo had resorted to IHC against this conviction.
