LAHORE, Oct 02 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to federal government and Election Commission (EC) on the petition seeking court’s order for holding election in 90 days.
The petition filed by advocate Azhar Siddique came up for hiring before single bench of LHC led by justice Abdul Aziz Monday.
The petitioner has taken plea that it is must to hold election within 90 days as per constitution. No steps have been taken by EC so far for holding election in 90 days. Therefore, court should order EC to hold election within 90 days. President should also be ordered to announce date for election.
