Non provision of level playing field: PTI files contempt of court plea in SC on non implementation of its orders

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26 (Online): PTI has filed contempt of court plea in the Supreme Court (SC) on non implementation of court’s orders related to level playing field.

The PTI has requested SC to ensure implementation of its December 22 orders.

PTI in its petition has made federal government, provincial governments and Election Commission (EC) respondents. All the four chief secretaries and IGs have also been made respondents.

PTI has taken plea in the petition that harassment and arrests of PTI candidates be got stopped. PTI candidates were prevented from filing nomination papers despite court’s orders. Several letters were written to provincial EC but no notice was taken. Stern action be taken against those found involved in none complying with court’s orders.

The petition further said PTI candidates be allowed to hold rallies and public meetings.

PTI has requested the court to hold urgent hearing of its contempt of court plea.
