LHC seeks more arguments from state counsel in petition filed against detention of Ch Pervez Elahi

LAHORE, August 09 (Online): Lahore  High Court (LHC) has sought more arguments from state counsel on the petition filed against detention of former  Chief Minister (CM) Punjab  Chaudhry Pervez  Elahi.

 

The petition filed by Qaisra Elahi wife of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh Wednesday.

The petitioner has  challenged detention of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.

 

The petitioner took the plea  her husband was arrested by involving him in the politically motivated cases. Government detained  Chaudhry Pervez Elahi against the law .

She requested the court to nullify the detention of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.

 

The state counsel presented in the court material related to detention during the hearing of the case.

 

The state counsel told the court Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was  detained in the light of orders.  According to report it was feared that Pervez Elahi will hold meeting  against the government , therefore, he was  detained.
