ISLAMABAD, March 22 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended till May 07 the sentence awarded to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Irfan Nawaz, SSP Operations Jamil Zafar and SHO in contempt of court case for arresting PTI leader Shehr Yar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar under MPO.
In this regard written order was issued by Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb here Friday.
The court while issuing order directed to fix the appeal for hearing on May 7.
It is pertinent to mention here that IHC had awarded sentence of 6 months to DC Islamabad Irfan Nawaz, 4 months to SSP operations and 2 months sentence to SHO in contempt of court case in connection with illegal arrests of former federal minister Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar.
