IHC reserves judgment on PTI petition against not providing level playing field

ISLAMABAD, Marc h 27 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on PTI petition against not providing level playing field to the party in Islamabad. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb has remarked peaceful protest is constitutional right of every political party and citizen.

He gave these remarks during hearing of the case Wednesday. The petitioner Sher Afzal Marwat MNA appeared in the court.
He told the court if PTI flag Is waved then police raid. When we convene corner meeting then police reach there. We have to hold public meeting in Islamabad , therefore, level playing field be given to us as per law and constitution. The court inquired if section 144 is imposed in Islamabad still.

The counsel told the court section 144 is not in force now but the day on which PTI has to hold public meeting, section 144 is imposed. . We are political party and we be given political rights like other political parties. We stand with law and constitution. But staging protest is our legal and constitutional right too. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked peaceful protest is constitutional right of every political party and citizen. The court later reserved judgment on PTI petition.
