IHC reserves judgment on PTI founder, Bushra Bibi petition against Nikah during Iddat case

ISLAMABAD, January 31 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on PTI founder and Bushra Bibi petition against Nikah during iddat case.

The petitions seeking dismissal of Nikah during iddat case came up for hearing in IHC Wednesday.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq took up the case for hearing.

Suleman Akram Raja and Usman Riaz Gill gave arguments on behalf of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi .

Suleman Akram Raja while giving references to different court\s decisions said Shariah Appellate Tribunal of Supreme Court (SC) decision is there. that if nikah takes place after 39 days it cannot be declared annulled. This can be described as regular nikah.

Rizwan Abbasi prosecution counsel said if January 1 Nikkah was correct then why the necessity for solemnizing second nikah was felt. Who were witnesses and nikah khan in second nikah they are witnesses in this case.

The court reserved the judgment after hearing the arguments.
