LAHORE, August 10 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the hearing of the petition against detention of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi due to non presentation of cabinet review report by the state counsel.
The petition filed by Qaisra Elahi wife of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi came up for hearing before a single bench of LHC led by Justice Raheel Kamran Thursday.
The petitioner took the plea arrest of Pervez Elahi was made against the law. Pervez Elahi is being subjected to political victimization. The court should nullify the detention orders.
The state council did not present the report during the hearing and told provincial cabinet has not made review on detention.
The court summoned cabinet review report on next hearing.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till August 16.
