ISLAMABAD, Oct 18 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) while hearing contempt of election commission intra court appeal contempt of Fawad Chaudhry has stopped Election Commission (EC) from giving final decision.
The court while issuing notice to EC has sought reply.
The case came up for hearing before two member’s bench of IHC comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Timman Riffat Imtiaz Wednesday.
Faisal Chaudhry counsel for the petitioner appeared in the court.
He took the plea that proceeding cannot be initiated against an accused on two forums in one time. This is violation of basic rights of the accused.
If it is permitted then government will continue to entangle its opponents in such cases.
Politically motivated cases have been instituted against the petitioner. Single bench did not keep in view the important points in hearing.
