LAHORE, Oct 11 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice on appeal filed by federal government seeking cancellation of bail of PTI leader Hamid Khan.
A two member bench of LHC comprising Justice Alia Neelum and justice Asjad Javed Ghural took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Asad Bajwa appeared on behalf of federal government taking the plea Hamid Khan opened bogus account in the name of Insaf Trust. The co-accused includes Tariq Shafi and Manzoor Ahmad.
Millions of rupees were deposited in the account in the name of Insaf Trust. Money was used through this trust despite ban on foreign funding.
The state council took the plea a sum of Rs11.5 million was deposited in the account. Hamid Khan contested election in NA-118 on the basis of this amount.
The court remarked challan has not been sent to respective court despite lapse of one year.
The court while sending call up notice to Hamid Khan adjourned the hearing of the case.
