Accountability Court suspends arrest warrants of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (ONLINE): Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has suspended arrest warrants of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in toshskhana case.

Judge Muhammad Bashir of AC Islamabad took up for hearing petition of Nawaz Sharif seeking suspension of his arrest warrants of Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana case Thursday.

Qazi Misbah counsel for Nawaz Sharif and NAB prosecutor appeared in the court.

Counsel for Nawaz Sharif said Nawaz Sharif wanted to face the cases in the court. He will arrive in Pakistan on October 21. The court is requested to suspend his arrest warrants till October 24.

Judge Muhammad Bashir inquired you have filed petition in high court too.
Counsel for Nawaz Sharif said “no”. We have not resorted to high court in this case. Warrants have been issued in Toshakhana case but decision was not made. The arrest warrants of Ishaq Dar were suspended in the case of this nature.

NAB prosecutor said during hearing of the case Nawaz Sharif has sought two reliefs. He is saying he wants to surrender before the court. If court wants to hear Nawaz Sharif then his arrest warrants be suspended.

The court after hearing the arguments of defence counsel and NAB prosecutor court reserved judgment on the petition of PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif seeking suspension of his arrest warrants.

Later the court while announcing reserved judgment suspended arrest warrants of Nawaz Sharif.

Lawyers of Nawaz Sharif had filed application in AC Islamabad.
