Accountability Court approves physical remand of Pervez Elahi till Monday

LAHORE, Aug 15 (Online): Accountability Court (AC) Lahore has approved physical remand of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi till Monday in corruption case.

NAB team reached AC to present Pervez Elahi in case pertaining to corruption in government contracts and kickbacks.
NAB petition came up for hearing before Judge Zubair Shahzad Kiayani of AC Tuesday.

NAB prosecutor Waris Janjua and Amjid Pervez counsel for Pervez Elahi appeared in the court.
NAB team presented Pervez Elahi in the court.

The investigation authorities requested the court to give physical remand of Pervez Elahi.

Prosecutor Waris Janjua took the plea Rs 72 billion were allocated for areas of Gujarat. Pervez Elahi was then CM when these projects were passed. SDO was given the charge of XEN and Moonis Elahi struck kick backs deal with them.

Moonis Elahi received kickbacks before commencement of these projects.

The counsel for Pervez Elahi said two application of Pervez Elahi are pending hearing and one is in Lahore high court and the other is in Supreme Court. Please don’t give physical remand till Monday because Pervez Elahi cases are pending hearing.

The court approved physical remand of Pervez Elahi till Monday.

Amjid Pervez has filed petition in the court seeking facilities for Pervez Elahi.
