CEO LWMC chaired special meeting on Anti Smog Activities

Lahore, 27th September, 2022 (Online): Lahore Waste Management Company is taking extraordinary measures regarding controlling smog in Lahore. In this regard special smog control team has been made and mobilized with enforcement team to monitor 43 hotspot points in two shifts.

According to the spokesperson of LWMC, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of CEO LWMC RafiaHaider in which Deputy CEOs , GM operation, enforcement officers from all the towns participated.

CEO LWMC RafiaHaider gave standing instruction to keep a close watch on scrapping activities around major roads, service lanes, parks, schools and people setting fire to garbage around fruit markets and Sunday markets.

CEO LWMC RafiaHaider says that the smog control teams are working across the city in two shifts. With the help of the teams, 43 hot spot points of garbage burning are being monitored for prevention of smog.

In the night shift, mechanical sweeping and washing of 88 roads of 747 km long is also going on, while action will be taken with the help of the traffic police against the trolleys coming without covering at the entrances and exit points of the city.

She added that in order to decrease the spread of smog challan of Rs 54,000 and an FIR was also registered for burning garbage in the last week. She has also requested the citizens that all citizens should do their part to keep Lahore smog-free and the environment clean.
