SC abolishes life sentence of accused in kidnapping for ransom case

ISLAMABAD, Nov 07 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) while abolishing life sentence of an accused in kidnapping for ransom case has nullified Lahore High Court (LHC) decision.
The court ordered to acquit the accused after 15 years.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Tariq Masood took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
The counsel for petitioner took the plea the major accused of the case had fled from scene. His age was 15 years in 2008 when allegation was leveled against him.
Terrorism clauses were also included in kidnapping for ransom case against the accused. No relevance of incident with terrorism could be proved.

Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi remarked neighbors, relatives and close people are involved in kidnapping for ransom case.
The court while nullifying LHC decision ordered to acquit accused Shahid after 15 years.
