Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Altaf Ahmed Bhat in a press statement issued here in Islamabad today has paid glorious tributes to the martyrs of Jammu genocide on 6 Nov 1947. This dark chapter in history saw the brutal slaughter of nearly six hundred thousand Muslims by the forces of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh, the Indian Army, and Hindu extremists.
On this solemn occasion, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the world are observing Jammu Martyrs’ Day, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to carrying forward the mission of these martyrs until they secure their inherent right to self-determination, stated Chairman Bhat.
Chairman JKSM Bhat further added that it was this unfortunate day when six hundred thousand Kashmiris were martyred by the forces of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian Army and Hindu fanatics in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan during the first week of November in 1947.
There are hundreds of such incidents in which Indian occupation forces massacred innocent Kashmiri people.
Kashmiri people will never forget the holy blood and tremendous sacrifices of more than six hundred thousand martyrs who were victims of Indian brutality since 1947 till date. Chairman Bhat added.
Chairman JKSM added that even today, the people of Kashmir are fighting the Indian atrocities with full courage. The Kashmiri people have not recognized Indian Military might even for a moment in the last seventy-six years. Kashmiris will continue all kinds of resistance against India to complete the unfinished mission left by the martyrs.
Kashmiris are fighting Indian occupation since day one, their ultimate goal is completion of Pakistan, as the martyrs of Jammu who were coming to Pakistan on 6th Nov 1947 and Dogra forces and hindu goons massacred them.
Kashmiris have paid with blood to be a part of Pakistan, their inalienable sacrifices will never go in vain. PCivil Military leadership Government of Pakistan must play paractical role for the freedom of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.
Bhat retierated that since the inception of UN, Kashmir dispute is pending, while many countries got freedom after UN intervention. But in case of Kashmir more than 76 years passed but UN resolutions which were agreed upon are not implemented, leaving more than 650,000 kashmiri martyrs, thousnads of properties demolished, Economy of kashmir destroyed and psychological traumas in the younger generation.
Chairman Bhat appealed to the United Nations, international humanitarian organizations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Permanent Five (P5) to take cognizance of the war crimes committed by Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and exert pressure on India to adhere to international law and UN resolutions, initiating the process of a plebiscite.
