LAHORE, NOV 03 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed IG Punjab to file reply till November 10 in connection with contempt of court plea of PTI leader Khadija Shah against police officers.
The contempt of court plea filed by Khadija Shah came up for hearing Friday before single bench of LHC led by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi.
Samir Khosa counsel for Khadija Shah gave arguments in the court.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar appeared in the court.
State council took the plea when investigation process is underway then if something new comes, it has also to be included.
IG Punjab Dr Usman told the court the process of investigation is long and complicated. Everything is going on as per law. No question of non compliance arises.
Justice Ali Baqir Najfi remarked you have delivered very good speech.
The court inquired from IG Punjab has he filed report that Khadija Shah is nominated in two cases How arrest was made in third case. What is guarantee that if Khadija Shah is granted bail she will not be arrested again.
Justice Ali Baqir Najfi inquired you are all bound to law. Why did not you investigate her earlier? Why did you wait for her bail? If you were to investigate her in any case you could request the court.
The state counsel told the court when she (accused) was arrested her was presented before Anti Terrorism Court (ATC); All was done as per law. Remand of Khadija Shah was obtained from ATC.
Counsel for Khadija Shah argued 3 persons were arrested on the day bail of Khadija Shah was approved. FIA has registered FIR against Khadija Shah fourth time on October 27.
At present hearing of FIA case is underway in district Katchery. Two new cases have been instituted against Khadija Shah. This is an organized harassment.
The court adjourned hearing of case till November 10.
