ISLAMABAD, OCT 31 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) has restored PMDC case during the hearing of the case against non issuance of degree to female student of Sarhad Medical University.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the case Tuesday.
The CJP remarked there are more universities in Pakistan than New York and London. They make university no matter building is available or otherwise.
Fawad counsel for student Aasia took the plea that student Aasia Tauqir did masters in public health from Sarhad university. But Khyber medical university did not issue degree. Sarhad University is affiliated with Khyber Medical University for medical programs. PMDC had stopped issuing degrees in respect of Sarhad University through a notification in 2012.
The CJP remarked you have neither made Khyber University respondent nor have you attached documents with the petition. How many universities are in the country?
The court while giving time to respondents to file additional documents adjourned the hearing of the case.
