PMA meets to condemn Health secretary’s letter to defence secretary

ISLAMABAD Oct 28 (Online): Emergency meeting of Pakistan Medical Association Islamabad, the strong words condemnation of the letter written by the Ministry of Health to the Secretary of Defense for the appointment of military officers on the posts of executive director of 2 major hospitals and polyclinics in the federal capital.

Dr. Mian Rashid, Dr. Riaz Shahbaz Janjua, Dr. Muhammad Ajmal, Dr. Abid Saeed, Dr. Umar Farooq, Dr. Rana Javed and others of PMA Islamabad said that the association not only condemns any such action rather, it warns the Ministry of Health to refrain from any such action.

Deploying military officers in both major hospitals is not acceptable in any case.

According to PMA Islamabad, any such action is an insult to civil doctors.

The ministry has tried to discredit the institutions by writing letters. This initiative of the Ministry of Health has also tried to create differences between the civil society and the institution.

PMA-Islamabad fully trusts its institutions, we are sure that the said institution will not welcome the initiative of the Ministry of Health.

According to PMA Islamabad, the association will strongly resist any such move.
