DUBAI Oct 28 (Online): International Cricket Council (ICC) has admitted the mistake of DRS in the important World Cup match between Pakistan and South Africa.
The ICC admitted its mistake, stating that the first DRS replay shown was wrong, while the second DRS replay was correct, van der Dusen was dismissed for 21 runs as Osama was dismissed. Mir’s flipper ball was hitting straight wickets.
Remember, in the 26th and most important match of the World Cup, South Africa defeated Pakistan by one wicket after a thrilling match. Haris Rauf did ball to South Africa’s tail-and-beater Tabriz Shamsi, which hit his pad. Pakistan appealed for LBW, but the on-field umpire gave not out, so the green shirts asked to review Decision. In the review, it was seen that the ball is hitting the stumps but more than half of it is outside, due to which the third umpire upheld the decision of the umpire according to the rules and declared Tabriz Shamsi not out.
On this controversial decision, the ICC has to face severe criticism on the DRS system.
