Election Commission allots Eagle as election symbol to IPP

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has allotted eagle as election symbol to Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP).

EC has announced reserved judgment in connection with allotment of election symbol to IPP. EC accepted IPP request.

EC announced the decision which was reserved on October 23. IPP had requested EC for allotment of eagle as election symbol to it.

Earlier election symbol of eagle was held by All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), a party led by late Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf. The symbol of eagle was withdrawn from APML on October 13. EC had removed APML from list of political parties.

EC had maintained APML will not be allowed to participate in election as political party in future. The symbol eagle was withdrawn from APML for not holding intra party election.

On the other had IPP spokesperson Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan has commented poetically onallotment of eagle as election symbol.” Tundahi Bade Mukhalif se na ghabraye uqab, ye to chali ha tujhe ooncha urane ke layed”.
