New Delhi Oct 26 (Online): Modi’s government made rampant attacks on freedom of press in India, impartial journalism and independent media have been exposed to the fascism of the Modi government.
A leading journal has sounded the alarm over the dire situation of press freedom in India.
According to DW’s report, the use of anti-terrorism laws to stifle journalism in India has increased to an alarming extent. The police raided the houses of NewsClick journalists.
DW report further revealed that Indian police accused NewsClick of funding from China.
“Indian police have questioned more than 25 journalists so far”, the founder of News Click, Parbir Par Kaisth and Amit Chakraborty have been arrested by the Indian police on charges of terrorism, report.
Blocking media transparency in Occupied Kashmir is actually hiding Indian atrocities from the world, according to the report of Free Speech Collective; “Since 2010, 16 journalists have been booked and sent to jail under anti-terrorism charges”.
In view of the new law introduced in India, factual journalism has been labeled as terrorism.
