Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFCL) is a public listed company, founded in 1978 as a result of a joint venture between Fauji Foundation and Haldor Topsoe A/S Denmark. The company has progressively grown over the past 42 years; currently owns 3 x Fertilizer Plants with the largest fertilizer market share in Pakistan. It has further diversified owning Fauji Fresh and Freeze (FFF), FFC Energy Limited (FFCEL) & OLIVE Technical Services Pvt. Ltd. as its subsidiaries also having FFBL, Askari Bank, PakMaroc, Fauji Cement and HUBCO as its associated concerns.

FFC’s Commitment Towards Overall Well Being of Labor
FFC has been continuously investing in improvement of its labor force by providing them necessary skillset to meet the global standards of operational health and safety ensuring congenial and harmonious working environment at the workplace equivalent to its stature and place as a market leader; running an extensive safety-training program. Plant preventive maintenance plans corroborate process integrity and alleviate process safety incidents. The company has also made colossal efforts to improve the quality of life of the labor at the township; providing them state of the art free medical and good educational facilities for their children.
FFC rightly believes in “No Harm – No Injury” and operates an occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management system in adherence to latest international standards of health and safety of workforce i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Resultantly, FFC achieved an enormous safety by completing 17 & 7 million man-hours without Lost Work Injury (LWI) record at FFC plant sites Goth Machhi and Mirpur Mathelo, respectively. To promote safe culture through labors’ actions and to boost their morale, Safety Awards are given to employees on achieving each million-man hours without safety incident and during safe completion of plant shutdowns & turnarounds.

We ensure good labor relations in spirit of cooperation and mutual respect through Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to safeguard labor rights and settle their problems, protection of ecosystems and safety of our workforce. FFC goes an extra mile through its Loan schemes, Workers Hajj scheme, Workers children scholarship programs and Bonus schemes to keep its workers and labor motivated and to support them in achieving their personal milestones. The company also reaches out to the farmers (as associated labor segment) for resolution of their needs and hardships through its newly launched sustainable and climate smart agri program named as Food Security & Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) and looks out for their welfare, families and indigenous communities through employee run funds and trusts. Moreover, in testing times of pandemic COVID – 19, FFC gave majority of its work force fully paid leaves to stay at home.

FFC Subsidiaries
a. FFC Energy Limited
FFC Energy Limited (FFCEL) – a Pioneer Wind Power Generation project was incorporated in 2009 as a wholly owned subsidiary of FFC, which commenced its commercial operations on 16 May 2013 and has so far delivered over 975 Million Units of clean and green electricity into National Grid. FFCEL has employed 100% local manpower for carrying out the Operations and Maintenance of the Wind Farm paving the way for local industry development in sectors of O&M, Inspection, Training and Audit Services which can be extended to other Wind Farms. FFCEL, considers all its workforce including labor, a key organizational asset and is committed to their welfare and wellbeing for which well-maintained accommodation, dinning club and sports facilities are provided to them at site. FFCEL’s QHSE program is certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, which ensures healthy and safe work environment for all its manpower. Safe man-days record of 2,152 is a testimony of it. All labor laws including minimum wages, working hours etc. are complied with. FFCEL, under its Workers’ Profit Participation Fund has so far contributed over Rs. 175 Million out of which Rs. 23.5 Million are provided directly to eligible workforce. The Technical Training Center (TTC), a flagship CSR project of FFCEL, provides specific trainings related to Wind Industry, to own manpower as well as employees of other plants, to build local workforce capacity and reduce dependency on foreign experts thereby reduction in foreign exchange outflow for Wind turbine services.

b. Fauji Fresh n Freeze Limited (FFFL)
Safety is the utmost importance at “FFFL” also; consistent efforts are made to put certain mechanism in place to create a hazard free work space for all its employees.
To honor this commitment, FFFL conducts comprehensive in-house training sessions at plant on areas like safety, quality, processing, maintenance etc. and ensures that emergency procedures are practiced in stimulated but safe environment. Necessary skillset and knowledge is imparted to the labor with regards to use of fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, emergency response plan, hazard analysis, safe driving and ammonia safety etc. As a result of FFL’s goal of zero tolerance on safety measures, FFFL has successfully achieved 5 million safe man-hours since January 2015. FFFL appreciates its workforce, labor and employees for their long-term commitment to achieve this exceptional safety record.
