ECP directs to hand over services of Waqar Ali Khan to Punjab Government

Islamabad OCTOBER 23 (Online): Election Commission (ECP) has directed Federal government to hand over the services of Caretaker PM Staff officer Waqar Ali Khan to Punjab Government immediately.

Chief Election Commissioner said that don’t make fun of Election Commission’s directives and issue orders immediately.

3-member bench heard the matter of non-implementation of Caretaker PM Staff officer Waqar Ali Khan’s Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura appointment orders under Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja on Monday.

On this occasion, the Secretary could not appear before the Establishment Commission, while the Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister could not appear due to lack of timely notification.

On the occasion of hearing, Secretary Election Commission Umer Hameed has told Commission that services of Caretaker PM Staff officer Waqar Ali Khan handed over on the request of Punjab Government and Punjab Government appointed him as Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura but later the Prime Minister’s Office asked for his services back.

Chief Election Commissioner said that we all know why it has not been sent.

He said that first they come with a request for transfer and when the transfer is granted, they refuse to go if they don’t get the placement.

He said that it is a joke if the said officer was transferred to Nankana or Sialkot it would be true but when he was transferred to Sheikhupura he refused to go.

Chief Election Commissioner said that we respect Prime Minister (PM). He has full right to appoint staff officer but such a method should not be adopted.

He directed Election Commission to issue instructions immediately to Establishment Division regarding appointment of said officer as Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura.
