High court gives one week time to Rawalpindi police for recovery of Sheikh Rashid

RAWALPINDI, OCT 19 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has given one week time to Rawalpindi police for recovery of former interior minister Sheikh Rashid.

During the hearing of the case the judge remarked all know that Rawalpindi police handed over Sheikh Rashid to whom after arresting him. If Sheikh Rashid is not produced within a week then we will issue orders.

During the hearing of the petition against the detention of Sheikh Rashid, the court inquired from RPO Rawalpindi tells us what progress in Sheikh Rashid matter is.

RPO replied efforts are underway for recovery of Sheikh Rashid. More time be given.

The judge further inquired how much more time is needed. You have done what during the time which was given to you. What investigation was made on the affidavit and CDRs of the petitioner?

RPO replied the petitioner was called for inquiry but he could not give reasonable reply. The police officers, who were charged with arresting Sheikh Rashid, were not present in the area according to CDRs.

Judge inquired tell us what has to be done now. How Sheikh Rashid will be recovered.

RPO requested the court for giving more time.
Judge remarked we are giving one week more time considering it last chance. Later we will give no adjournment.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till October 27.
