Caretaker Government approaches High Court to cancel Muhammad Khan’s bail

LAHORE Oct 14 (Online): In the matter of accepting million rupees bribe from highway department officers for posting, the caretaker government of Punjab approached the Lahore High Court to cancel the bail of former Principal Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti.

In the government’s application, it has been stated that the Anti-Corruption Headquarters, Lahore registered a case against Muhammad Khan Bhatti and others on January 26, 2023.

According to the FIR, Muhammad Khan Bhatti took million rupees bribe from the highway officers for posting in the presence of Munis Elahi. Despite the solid evidence against the accused, the anti-corruption court granted bail on March 22.

It is requested that the decision to grant bail to the accused Muhammad Khan Bhatti be annulled.
