IHC clubs petitions seeking stopping trial of cipher case against chairman PTI, dismissal of case against him

ISLAMABAD, OCT 12 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has clubbed the petitions seeking stopping trial of cipher case against Imran Khan and dismissal of case against him.

Chairman PTI petition against the trial court decision regarding his indictment and his plea for stopping of his trial in cipher case came up for hearing in single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamir Farooq Thursday,

Sardar Latif Khosa counsel for chairman PTI appeared in the court,
The CJ IHC remarked he will issue the order to club these petitions with the petitions seeking orders for dismissal of case.

Latif Khosa said the petition relates to stoppage of trial of cipher case in the court and against the decision of indictment. The matter is running in high court and the decision is reserved. Lahore High Court (LHC) too has issued stay order in one case of FIA. We have repeatedly said no haste is shown and the matter is running in high court.

The counsel for Imran Khan argued we have too much concerns about official secret act. What security faced any threat or secrecy was leaked. Bhutto too had told as such in his speech in Raja Bazaar then what happened. My client is national hero. The world knows he is in jail despite being innocent.

The CJ IHC remarked today only miscellaneous petition is fixed and if you say then I club it with main case.

Latif Khosa said you please club it with the petition related to dismissal of cipher case. But it should be clubbed before October 17.

The CJ IHC remarked what has to happen on that day of October 17.

Counsel for Imran Khan said much disturbance has to take place on October 17. Trial is running and indictment has to be made.

The CJ IHC remarked I see it. I will issue in this regard. I will fix case before October 17.
