LHC summons PM Kakar and CM Naqvi over social media profanity content

LAHORE, Sep 27 (Online): The Lahore High Court summoned the Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar and Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in person on Oct 16 in connection with blasphemous content posting on social media.

The case came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Shujaat Ali Khan Wednesday.

Justice Shujaat Ali Khan remarked this is not case of any one person but it is case of all of us.

During the hearing of the case the court expressed annoyance over not filing report by federal government remarking government has not filed report. Have you come here for sightseeing? We call all chief executives of the country.

The counsel for federal government sought time to file report.

Upon it court inquired it seems as if you have come here for sightseeing and the matter has not been put up before caretaker PM.

The court directed the caretaker PM should appear in the court in person and clarify his position.
The court ordered care taker PM and Attorney General to appear before it on October 16.

Additional IG Punjab Shahzada Sultan stated in the court our jurisdiction is very limited.

The court remarked all know how much you are following your jurisdiction.

The court expressed annoyance over DPO Chiniot remarking IG should send DPO for some course.

The court summoned care taker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on next hearing.
