PPP, Senate once again face off secretariat

ISLAMABAD Sep 24 (Online): Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has refused to call the meeting on the second requisition of the People’s Party because the People’s Party did not succeed in completing the required 25 members for the meeting and the members of the other parties signed the requisition has now taken it back.

The PPP and the Senate Secretariat have come face to face again on the issue of convening the Senate meeting on the requisition of the People’s Party because the requisition is not signed by the required members.
For this reason, the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani is also reluctant to call the meeting.

On the other hand, the position of the Senate Secretariat is that the members of other parties included in the re-submitted requisition have withdrawn, including Sadia Abbasi, Abida Azim, Hidayatullah, Muhammad Qasim and Omar Farooq.

He has withdrawn his name from the requisition.
The 21-member PPP does not have the required number to submit a requisition alone.

The signature of at least 25 members on the requisition is necessary for the Senate meeting.

In the first requisition that was submitted, it was also revealed that the signatures of some members were not certified in the requisition of Senator Shahadat Awan. I have been informed that the name has been withdrawn

The Senate Secretariat has also advised the PPP to withdraw the requisition; former Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala said that the Senate Secretariat has verbally informed Taj Haider about the decision to withdraw the name. Senate secretariat must inform us in written form.
