Islamabad SEPTEMBER 21 (Online): Schedule for annual elections of Supreme Court Bar (SCB) has been released.
Polling will be held on October 31. Nomination papers can be submitted from September 29 to October 6.
Scrutiny of nomination papers on 9 oct, objections and appeals will be dealt with by 16 October.
For the Supreme Court Bar Association elections, major political parties have fielded their best lawyers to lobby the legal community. Higher bodies of lawyers are also ready to play their role in this matter.
Shehzad Shaukat of Asma Jahangir Group and Mian Abdul Quddus of Hamid Khan Group will compete for the presidency.
On behalf of Farooq H. Naik PPP, PML-N has assigned Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar while PTI has assigned the responsibilities to Senator Barrister Ali Zafar, Ahmed Awais, Shoaib Shaheen Advocate.
On the other hand, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa is also working behind the scenes for the success of Hamid Khan Group.
