Petroleum products price likely to scale up from Sep 15

ISLAMABAD, SEP 14 (Online): Petroleum products prices are likely to be enhanced from September 15 in the country and OGRA has evolved working in this regard.

Sources told Online that price of Petroleum products are likely to be scaled up by Rs 23.50 per liter.

Possibility is there that petrol price will be increased by Rs 16 to 17 per liter. Price of diesel is likely to be enhanced by Rs 24 per liter.

Levy on petrol is likely to be increased by Rs 5 per liter. There is likelihood of increasing levy on diesel. Additional revenue will be collected for IMF due to these taxes.

Sources said OGRA will send final summary to finance ministry today (Friday). Finance minister and energy minister will give their opinion on it. However care taker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar will give final decision.

The hike in prices of petroleum products will take effect from September 16.
