ISLAMABAD, Sep 09 (Online): Prosecutor General (PG) NAB Justice (Retd) Syed Asghar Haider has resigned.
The service tenure of PG NAB Justice (Retd) Syed Asghar Ali was to be completed in February 2024.
The investigation into 190 million pounds scandal has been completed. The reference was to be filed in this month. The reference cannot be filed in accountability court without the approval of PG.
The meeting of executive board and approval of cases stand suspended without prosecutor general.
The approval of PG is must for revival of cases if NAB amendment is nullified.
PG has sent his resignation to chairman NAB. PG NAB resignation has been received in Prime Minister House.
PG NAB has confirmed report about his resignation that he has tendered resignation on personal reasons.
PTI government had given extension of 3 years in service to Syed Asghar Haider through an ordinance in February 2021.
