Injury scare for Naseem Shah in Asia Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh

Islamabad SEPTEMBER 06 (Online): The pacer slipped near the boundary rope
Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah walked off the field after slipping near the boundary rope during the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match against Bangladesh at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

During the seventh over of Bangladesh’s batting, Naseem ran from fine leg and slided near the boundary line to stop the ball from crossing the fence. But he was seen lying down on his stomach, soon after, as he seemed to have stretched his right shoulder. He was back up after a few minutes but left the field in order to get further treatment.

Naseem bowled three overs and claimed one wicket for 22 runs before leaving the field.

The right-armer returned to the field after six overs on the sidelines.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat against Pakistan in the first Super 4 match during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

Both teams have made one change in their lineup for today’s crucial match. Pakistan have replaced Mohammad Nawaz with Faheem Ashraf, meanwhile Litton Das comes in place of the injured Najmul Hossain Shanto for Bangladesh.

Pakistan and India qualified from Group A, meanwhile, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka booked place in the Asia Cup Super 4 from Group B.

During the group stage, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 238 runs in their first match but their second fixture against India was washed out.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, lost to Sri Lanka in their first match by five wickets but bounced back to beat Afghanistan by 89 runs to secure their place in the next round.
