Six cases of dengue virus have come to light in Nowshera

NOWSHERA Aug 31 (Online): Six cases of dengue virus have come to light in Nowshera.

According to District Health Officer Nowshar Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Khan, the health department has issued a high alert to prevent dengue virus and formed various teams for the possible prevention of dengue throughout the district.

Dengue isolation wards have been set up in six hospitals, including District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera.

According to Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Kabir Afridi, orders have been issued to cantonment boards and TMOs to take special preventive measures to prevent dengue virus.

District Health Officer Nowshar Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Khan said that, the presence of dengue virus has been revealed in five official hospitals and in private hospitals as well.

CMH Nowshera and CMH Risalpur are also being consulted to share information.

According to Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Kabir Afridi, the health department teams have been given strict instructions to take measures to prevent dengue larvae in the district and cantt areas.

Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Kabir Afridi further told our correspondent Syed Nadeem Mashwani that the cantonment boards and TMOs should also start IRS dengue spray in the affected areas to prevent dengue virus and house dengue affected people across the district. And plans are being made to provide all medical facilities at the level of government hospitals and BHUs.
