MIRPURKHAS, Aug 27 (APP):Mirpurkhas Education Board Chairman Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah chaired the comprehensive examination reforms meeting which was held at Ajrak Hall here on Sunday.
According to details, this meeting was attended by examiners, sub-examiners male and female professors, experts and teachers of degree colleges, higher secondary schools and private institutions affiliated to Education Board Mirpurkhas.
Chairman Education Board while speaking in the meeting said that the outdated and defective system of students’ examination papers and marking must be standardized with modern technology.
Exam papers will be made more standardized and integrated without geographical barriers, the current board’s examination system only tests students’ memorization and not comprehension.
Such examination papers should be prepared in which there is no room for copying so that the performance of the students can be evaluated properly, he added.
He said that the current marking system is flawed, unfair and biased and is not used in any region of the world while it needs to be changed immediately.
For the reform of the examinations, it has become necessary to develop it a fresh according to the modern principles and exclude human interference.
Besides that the consulted on implementation of electronic distribution of question papers through modern technology secure online web portal, question items bank for preparation of standard question paper and digital attendance monitoring system for fair and transparent conduct.
He said that the current education board environment is under political and social pressure, so we need a change in intentions and priorities as we have both advanced science and technology.
On the other hand the board is constantly striving for the best use of technology to improve its examination system and standards, he added.
He concluded that serving students and academics in the best possible way is the priority of the Board, with this intentions, BISE Mirpurkhas has implemented a comprehensive examination reform program to improve the examination.
