President enhances punishment of NEPRA director to sacking from service in woman harassment case

ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (Online): President Arif Alvi has enhanced the punishment of an accused in woman harassment case.

The presidenthas rejected appeal filed by NEPRA director Ahmad Nadim in female office assistant harassment case and enhanced his punsihment to termination from service.

President said sending inappropriate messages, asking the woman for staying in office beyond closing hours, hurling threats of dire consequences for not accepting immoral orders is harassment.

Harassment is proved from the statments of woman, witnesses, CCTV footage, whats app messages and E-mail. The accused confessed his offence indirectly. He only filed appeal against the severity of punishment.

Enhancing the nominal punishment from stoppage of two increments to sacking him from service will remain proper and reasonable.

Wafaqi Mohtasib had awarded punishmente of stoppage of two increments on the application of female office assistant in connection with her harassment by the accused..
