ISLAMABAD, August 12 (Online): Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said he is proud to be blue eyed of establishment since 30 years.
“I take pride in it that my relations with establishment remained good always. I am apple of establishment eye since the last 30 years. Review judgment decision will make no difference for Nawaz Sharif. We will contest next election on the slogan of “vote ko izzat do”. The coalition partners have empowered me in connection with care taker PM, he said this while talking to senior journalists and anchors here Saturday.
He admitted that their vote bank was affected due to inflation. “But we saved state”, he added. If state becomes safe then everything is safe.
I ran government under difficult situation in 16 months, he remarked. Not a scandal of single pie has come against us in 16 months.
To a question about relations with establishment and praising army chief in inauguration ceremony of projects he said what is wrong in praising army chief. My relations with establishment never remained bad.
But tell when and on what occasion I was given concession, he questioned. 8 months passed in protest and march in 16 months government.
It is unanimous decision of PML-N that if we get majority then Nawaz Sharif will be PM, he held.
The decision of holding election is decision of election commission.
It is desire of PML-N that election is held as soon as possible, he observed.
There is no legal impediment on the way of Nawaz Sharif return to Pakistan, he remarked. The five years disqualification of Nawaz Sharif has ended due to amendment in election act.
The decision about caretaker PM will be made within a day or two. Still a few days are left constitutionally in the appointment of care taker PM.
The allied parties have empowered me with reference to care taker PM and only one party has said talk to their leadership. The meeting with leader of the opposition is scheduled today too.
He indicated that at 12 p.m on the night of September 3, 2014, Chinese ambassador telephoned me telling about postponement of visit of Chinese president. I met the then army chief on next day. I asked army chief to ensure visit of Chinese president during the meeting. However PTI refused to end dharna.
I will never leak out the secrets of 16 months government, he reiterated.
if we control under the head of custom duty then we will have to impose new tax, he observed.
When we slapped tax on elite class then stay order came, he added.
Nawaz Sharif ended electricity load-shedding during his tenure, he said.
The inflation came due to IMF, he said adding we made efforts to curtail inflation and it scaled down to some extent.
