ISLAMABAD July 21 (Online): Raja Riaz, opposition leader in National Assembly, has started consultation with political parties for caretaker Prime Minister’s name.
Chances are that official consultation between opposition leader and prime minister may start from August 1, sources.
Sources also told that before official consultation, contacts between PakistanPeople Party (PPP) and Opposition Leader Raja Riaz has increased.
Speaker national assembly (NA) Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and leader of opposition Raja Riaz held two meetings in two days. Informal consultation on appointment of caretaker pm and upcoming election was held in these meetings.
According to sources Raja Pervaiz Ashraf inquired Raja Riaz about proposed names for the appointment of interim pm. Raja Riaz told Pervaiz Ashraf that names has not been finalized to yet.
I will finalise the names before the inception of consultation with Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef, told Raja Riaz.
Meeting with Prime Minister is set on August 1, for consultation and discussion, said opposition leader.
Raja Riaz said he will propose names for interim PM in meeting with Shahbaz Shareef.
He said he will try to build consensus on the name of caretaker pm during consultation with Prime Minister.
Speaker told Raja Riaz that he is not in favor to delay the election. We want elections during fixed constitutional term.
