PAC Sub Committee settles audit para pertaining to fake degree cases

Islamabad, May 25 (Online): A sub-committee of Public Accounts committee has settled the para pertaining to fake degree cases of 67 employees.

The representative of Sui Gas told the PAC (M&I) that in 2011, political recruitment of about 2,900 employees was done in a single day in SSGCL, which was 50% of all the employees of Sui Gas department at that time.

57th meeting of Sub-Committee-VIII of PAC pertaining to Petroleum Division was held on Thursday at Parliament House, Islamabad.

After 5 years of recruitment, their educational credentials were got verified by various educational institutions, which proved the fake credentials of 67 employees.

Meanwhile, the employees with fake credentials went to different courts of law and got a stay orders.

PAO Petroleum Division informed the Committee that required degrees against the positions were original but higher degrees were fake.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said that forgery was committed which is a serious crime.

Senator Mohsin Aziz said that the real culprits of this corruption should be punished at all costs and their salaries and other privileges should be withdrawn.

Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari, MNA said that giving employment to people is the responsibility of political representatives. So it is not an offense and requested the Chair to settle the Audit Para.

After that, convener Syed Hussain Tariq, MNA recommended to settle the Audit Para.
